This is really the first holiday season in which Tessa has been really into it. She’s asking all sorts of questions and her excitement is palpable.
We went out a bought a short 4 1/2 ft. Douglas Fir tree for our living room today, but yesterday, we put the small 2 ft. artificial tree up in Tessa’s bedroom. She decorated it all herself and was very proud of her efforts.
To celebrate her effort, I made a few ornaments for her tree of her favorite animal — a penguin.
I used the LEGO penguin keychain as my model for our ornament:
In fact, I made it exactly the same, but added the black round plate with the eye in it.
I only 4-5 more of those plates, but I’m hoping to make a few more ornaments with Tessa. We’ll post these after we make them.
Looking for ideas to make your own ornaments? Here’s a great post from one of my favorite LEGO blogs, The Brick Blogger: http://thebrickblogger.com/2012/11/makelego-christmas-ornaments/.
